O’Mara Translation also offers a range of other translation related services including:

• Consultation on cross-cultural issues and matters of a culturally sensitive nature with regard to media, marketing, advertising and corporate communication.
• Transcriptions.
• Subtitling and surtitling.
• Proofreading and second opinion work.
• Editing.
• Authentication of a translation (see below).
• Copytyping, typesetting and file conversion.

Authenticating a translation.

There are four options:

• a translator's certificate;
• an affidavit sworn by the translator before a solicitor, who witnesses the translator's signature;
• notarising - the same procedure but with a notary as the witness;
• an apostille, is a legalisation certificate affixed to a document by the Foreign Office;

Authenticating a translation after a lapse of time is always more expensive and may be impossible.

Secure translation

It is possible to request an additional level of security and confidentiality for your assignment. Additional rates are charged when these special procedures are followed. The precise terms are given in the form of either an undertaking or a Deed of Confidentiality. Both stipulate the method by which any material may be sent between the client and O’Mara Translations, including all final and/or draft copies of the translation and the source text. After the assignment all relevant material in all forms will be erased.
